Fort Wayne Derby Girls to Host No Coast Derby Girls from Lincoln, NE
The Fort Wayne Derby Girls all-star team, the Bomb Squad, will travel to the East Coast Derby Extravaganza in Philadelphia on June 20 and 21. The event is the largest roller derby tournament in the nation, featuring leagues from all over the United States, and is hosted by the Philly Roller Girls.
The Bomb Squad will take on 17th ranked Mad Rollin Dolls from Madison, Wisconsin, on Saturday, June 20, and unranked CT Rollergirls from Connecticut on Sunday. This will be the first WFTDA-sanctioned tournament appearance for the Bomb Squad.
The Bomb Squad is currently ranked 31st in the nation, according to the Women?s Flat Track Derby Association?s quarterly rankings.

Roller derby, once a common sport in mid-?70s, has staged a comeback. Fort Wayne is at the pinnacle of Indiana?s roller derby resurgence. Since October 2005, the Fort Wayne Derby Girls, a non-profit, volunteer-run organization, has raised $26,000 for local women?s and children?s charities.
