Fort Wayne Derby Girls Host Ridin’ Derby

Fort Wayne Derby Girls and Wellspring Interfaith Social Services are teaming up to host the 2nd annual RIDIN' DERBY on Saturday, June 19, at Elegant Occasions. This event will support Wellspring Interfaith Social Services in Fort Wayne and Taylor's Dream, Boundless Playground for all Northeast Indiana families with and without disabilities.

RIDIN' DERBY includes a 104-mile 'Fun Run' sponsored by ROCK 104. The car and motorcycle Fun Ride will begin at Elegant Occasions in Fort Wayne and travel through DeKalb, Noble and Steuben Counties, before returning to Elegant Occasions. Registration begins at noon. The last vehicles leave at 3 pm and return at 7 pm. The cost is $15 per driver, which includes an event t-shirt, and $5 per card playing passenger.

RIDIN' DERBY also includes a Car, Truck and Bike show to be held at Elegant Occasions, located at 14722 Lima Road in Fort Wayne, Indiana. Vehicle registration is from 2 pm to 4 pm. People's Choice voting is from 2 pm to 7 pm. The $10 registration fee to show your vehicle includes an event t-shirt. There is a $4 discount and early registration for Fun Ride participants and prizes will be awarded.

Enjoy live music starting at 7pm with the locally renowned band, Deuce. Rock band, Kill The Rabbit, takes the stage at 9:30. Amac will be donating his services to keep the music going all day.The benefit event will also include corn hole, hillbilly horseshoes, full-contact musical chairs, a dunk tank and kids activities, such as moonwalks, clowns, games and more. Elegant Occasions is offering an all-you-can-eat dinner buffet for $8, from 5:30 – 7:30 pm, with proceeds to benefit the charity event.

Admission for this event is only $3, and children ages 15 and under are free. Fun Ride and Show participants receive free admission. Proceeds from the event will all support

Wellspring has a mission to serve the social, physical and educational needs of the community. Wellspring provides a free summer day camp for over 300 at risk kids. Daily programming is offered to seniors, many of whom have physical and emotional challenges. The Youth After School Program serves 160 youth in activities including homework help, Reading Club, visual/ performing arts, educational and recreational programs. Parent Club helps families develop living skills such as nutrition, health and budgeting. Wellsrping's Food Bank, provides food and personal hygiene items. Taylor's Dream - Boundless Playground mission is to build a truly inclusive playgrounds where children and adults with and without disabilities can play and learn together in a fun environment. The Boundless Playground at Kreager Park will have three pods of playground equipment and activity areas, a sprayground, accessible ramps, walkways, a picnic pavilion and accessible parking.
